ISPM 15 refers to Publication 15 of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures, which regulates Wood Packaging Material in International Trade. ISPM is a global standard developed to reduce the risk arising out of pests across Country borders through wood packaging material such as the conventional hardwood pallets. Several countries have implemented or in the process of implementing ISPM 15 Compliance for their imports. In such instances, the wood packaging material must be either ISPM 15 compliant; or of a form where ISPM 15 standard do not apply. In order the wood packaging material is ISPM15 compliant, the wood pallets must either be fumigated with methyl bromide or subject to heat treatment of a minimum of 56 degree Celsius for 30 minutes.
